MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT

Our pursuit of happiness and success can become unnecessarily complicated and impractical. With life’s demands constantly chasing us down, or overwhelming expectations presenting a myriad of ‘best’ ways to be - mental health can feel like an uphill battle.

Using holistic & evidence based processes with practical skills, I can help you regain a meaningful way of living where you feel more in control of your mental health, and more connected to the person you want to be.

It can be a helpful reminder to know that you do not have to figure it out on your own. Just because you haven’t found a way forward yet, does not mean there isn’t one.

If you are an adult experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, burnout, stress, and / or illness and injury, and you’re ready to receive support, I would love to hear from you.

What can I gain from working with Taylor?

  • Prevent things from worsening / spiralling. Benefit from a personalised approach to your mental health and well-being - something a book, podcast, and online course cannot do.

  • Gain a deeper understanding of yourself, where you’re at, and why.

  • Learn to take control of your mental health with personalised skills & processes to deal with challenges as they come up.

  • Feel supported in applying skills & processes to make positive changes outside of sessions.

  • Allow yourself to be heard, validated, and accepted in a safe, compassionate, and confidential environment.

  • Find reassurance that you are being supported by a registered, experienced, and trained professional with an evidence-based & holistic approach to psychology.

What do clients say?

“While therapy in the past helped me understand how my life experiences shaped my thinking and behaviour, it didn't provide me with the everyday tools to do any more than just cope.

When more unhealthy habits and behaviours started rearing their heads again, I scoped out Taylor who helped me see that my anxiety and depression was not definitive, that there is a way forward with the right approach.

She not only taught me that I could do much more than just cope
- she gave me practical skills to do so.

Now when life throws me curveballs, I have a deeper understanding of myself and reliable toolbox of skills to help me adapt to challenges when they come up, instead of letting them take over.

Thank you Taylor!”

How do 1:1 Sessions Work?

Initial Intake Consultation (60 minutes minutes)

Your first session will be an initial intake consultation. The purpose of an initial intake consultation is to gain a shared understanding of where you are at and importantly, what you would like to get out of these sessions. I will talk you through my approach and we will decide if it’s a good fit. We will co-create a plan based on your overall needs for therapy or performance.

How often will I attend sessions?

Weekly or fortnightly sessions are typically suggested, and sometimes monthly. We may work together for 8 sessions or more. Because your plan is unique to you, discussing frequency of sessions will occur during the initial intake consultation. Sessions are for 50 - 60 minutes.

How much does a session cost?

This varies depending on funding and age. Please contact ĀHUA Psychology for this information

Is there funding available?

ACC
If your experience of mental health is linked to an accident or sensitive claim, you may be eligible for ACC. Please contact ACC directly to discuss. Please note I am not currently taking on ACC claims.

Private Health Insurance
Your private health insurance may fund a certain number of sessions with a registered psychologist. Please contact your insurer to find out more.

Funding through your job or sport team / contract
Your employee may be able to provide funding for mental health services i.e., EAP. Please contact your employee to see if this applies to you.

Will my sessions be confidential?

Everything you share will remain confidential. The only limitations to confidentiality is if you disclose any information that is perceived is an imminent risk or threat to the safety of you or another person(s). This is not a common occurrence, and whenever possible, I share my concerns with you before notifying a third party.

What if I start and don’t want to continue sessions?

You can choose to end sessions whenever you like, there is no obligation to continue with sessions. I will always open space to check in and discuss fit. I make an ongoing effort to cater to your needs, discuss alternative services, and offer referrals.

What if I’m not sure about seeing you?

Talking to someone for the first time can be a little nerve racking. If you’re on the fence, let’s have a chat to see if we’re a good fit.
