Don’t Mistake the Map for the Terrain.

What is the point in accumulating knowledge for the sake of accumulating knowledge?

When I disconnect from the my busy little mind and reconnect with the more subtle layers of my consciousness, with nature, with my body, the people around me and an outflow of meaningful creations be in the form of work or not - this is where I make my biggest changes and continue to evolve. This is not knowledge, this is embodiment.

It’s easy to get caught up in the glorified busy-ness of life, to saturate ourselves in information, to mistake our ‘knowing’ for productivity and an instagram worthy image of self development that remains all but an idea… until next year.

When I slip into this over identification with knowingness, when my ideas don’t align with my actions, I stop. I put everything down and make my way back to the way we were biologically evolved to exist - to play and reconnect with something other than my intellect.

As you charge into 2021 with an array of #goals, don’t mistake the map for the terrain.

Knowledge is nothing without embodiment.

Consider this a call to action - to put your gratitude lists, goals, reflections, desires, dreams and the changes you want to make into some form of tangible action.
